I want to share the wonderful story of Lucy, and our ambitious plans to help more dogs and cats in 2016.
Lucy is a senior retriever mix who was surrendered to Baypath because her family could not care for her anymore. When we learned she had a serious injury – a torn ligament in her leg – that required immediate surgery, we desperately wanted to help this sweet girl.
Thanks to you, we could!
Your generosity in 2015 enabled us to take in 1,200 dogs and cats, a 20% increase from the year before. Among them were some, like Lucy, who needed a little more care before they could find their forever homes.
Going that extra mile led to Lucy being able to recover and find her forever family. Lucy's new mom shared, "We're overwhelmed by her loving nature. We could not have asked for a better dog for our family."
This year, we aim to do even more for animals in our community and beyond. We are aware that as we increase intake, our medical costs will inevitably rise. We stand committed to helping as many dogs and cats in need as possible, and will be focusing attention on our Extraordinary Medical Fund, which is the lifeblood of these efforts.
We are grateful for your kindness and can't wait to share more success stories with you. Your support has meant the world to Lucy, all of the amazing animals in our care, and to all of us at Baypath.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Jefferis,
Executive Director
