- Message: I have to move from my current apartment. I have a cat who is almost 15. I can't afford to board him and I don't want to have to give him up if I don't have to. I knew fully well when I got him that it was for his entire life. I'm not one of those pet owners who gets rid of their pets because they get old or because it becomes difficult to find a place that accepts cats. The problem is, I am having trouble finding a place that accepts cats and I need to find a temporary place for him until I can find a place that will allow cats. Someone who would treat him as I would treat him. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. I know that if I am forced to surrender him, due to his age, he will most likely be put down because people want kittens. He is a good boy and isn't a lap cat, but does crave attention. I need help ASAP. I don't know who else to turn to, so please help me help my cat. This is not an easy decision for me to make and I'm trying to find a way to keep him, but none of my friends are able to take him in on a temporary basis for me. My family can't take him in either, otherwise I would leave my cat with them. I live in Somerville, and have no way to get out to Worcester, however. Please advise.
