Kitten Season is killing season at local animal shelters. But with an urgent contribution from you today, it doesn't have to be.

To show you what your support can do, let me share with you the story of Milton.

Just ten weeks old, Milton was a community kitten. He was healthy and in his outdoor home until he was picked up by a well-meaning person and taken to a local shelter.

This could have been the end for Milton. Many kittens are killed every spring in shelters — and it must be stopped.

Most shelters don't have programs in place to give kittens like Milton the extra care they need to be socialized to humans.

Fortunately for Milton, Hannah from Alley Cat Allies was at the shelter, helping to create a program designed for cats. She was able to get Milton the care he needed and now he's with a loving family.

But we know not every kitten is so lucky.

Thousands of kittens will be taken to shelters this spring and too many of them won't come out alive.
