April Edition
Thanks to the support of loyal donors like you, we’ve been very busy this month protecting cats around the country. Here are just a few of our current projects and success stories:

Kitten Recovering After Brutal Attack in Bedford, Texas
 |
A horrible cruelty case has rocked Bedford, Texas. Two kittens were found behind a strip mall severely and purposely mutilated. One of the kittens was euthanized as a result of his injuries. The other kitten, Bobbi, survived. Bobbi is recovering from surgery in the loving home of a trusted caregiver. Alley Cat Allies is offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime. We’re committed to supporting the Bedford Police Department with its investigation. We are also covering the cost of Bobbi’s veterinary care. Read the full story. |

Congrats, Virginia! Promote Adoptions Bill Becomes Law
 |
We’re thrilled to tell you that Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe signed the Promote Adoptions Bill into law last month. The new law clarifies the definition of private animal shelters to ensure every shelter operates primarily for the purpose of adoption. Advocates who contacted their legislators made the difference. Find out more about Virginia’s new lifesaving law. |

New Strides in Cat Protection Post-Katrina
 |
Earlier this month at the annual Animal Care Expo in New Orleans, our President and Founder, Becky Robinson, couldn’t help but notice the enormous strides in feline protection policies that have taken place in the decade since Hurricane Katrina. New state and federal policies have been enacted to protect cats and all animals when disaster strikes. But more help is needed. Learn more about advancements in disaster preparedness for cats and all animals. |

Help Prevent Tragedies Like Kiki’s
 |
Diana was scared and worried when she realized her beloved cat companion of 10 years, Kiki, was missing. She was heartbroken when she learned Kiki had been trapped and killed at the local animal shelter. Tragedies like this are why Alley Cat Allies works so hard to confront dangerous policies that threaten all cats in local communities. That’s why your support means so much. Your generous contribution to Alley Cat Allies ensures we have the resources to continue advocating for lifesaving policies that protect cats. Make your contribution today. |

Adoptable Cat: Meet K.D.!
 |
Last month we introduced you to K.D., a beautiful one-year-old tabby who loves to spend her time with people and cats. Little K.D. is still in foster care, searching for her forever home where she can explore the world around her, give head-bonks and cuddles, and finish off the day with a big meal. She’s super sweet and ready to join your family! Bring home K.D. today!
