Subject: [masscats] Emergency help needed temporarily in Brockton
There is a woman in Brockton, MA named Ginnie who helps out and takes in homeless cats. She has 8 of her own and 9 others in a separate space that she has been trying to get adopted. Yesterday a pipe in her home broke and flooded much of her house. She needs to temporarily get at least the 8 cats out and the workers are there now telling her she has an hour to get them out. She is beside herself and doesn't know what to do. In her rush to deal with this yesterday she also tripped and sprained her ankle. So she is now trying to get 8 cats into carriers to put out in her yard because she doesn't have anywhere to put them. She said she has called everyone she knows and no one can help her.
If there is anyone able to help with temporary housing for these kitties (even if only for one or two) could you give Ginnie a call as soon as possible?. Her number is 508-942-0647. Please contact her directly if you can help. I met Ginnie at the funeral of a mutual friend a year ago, when she was trying to find a home for the friend's 5 cats. She is one of those "crazy cat ladies" we all know who just wants to do the right thing by the cats and helps out to the point of getting herself over extended. She is truly in a panic right now.
Thank you so much!
