Rufus was abandoned in the CVHS parking lot in the middle of a cold December night. Now this mellow gentleman is looking for a warm, loving home where he can spend his golden years. Wise, patient and noble, he has the classic temperament of a mature Golden Retriever. Rufus is an easy-going, tolerant dog who is not easily perturbed. He seems unconcerned by children and other animals, and he will happily follow his person through any situation. A people-oriented dog, Rufus will watch his handler for cues and commands. He already knows how to sit, lie down and shake paws, and he frequently flops over on his back for tummy scratches. He adores human contact, and he will purposefully position himself so that he can lean against you or rest his head on your foot. Rufus is an ideal match for anyone looking for a calm, quiet and low-maintenance companion.
